Goin' To The Swamp

Live in NYC, couldn't make it to Westchester, so I'm going to Atl, four hour lesson with Ted on Aug 19th. I'll fly down the night before, wake up in Marietta for a noon session.

So I have just under two months to study my brains out and get to the range a bit. Besides that, anyone have any "Swamp Tips" they'd like to pass along?

I found a place called the Crestwood Suites, where I'll stay--anyone stay there before?

Any place in particular you'd recommend for breakfast?

Anything in particular you'd study from the book?

I'll make sure and post a long review upon my return.

Cheers,

HoganFan

My second home, but I wish it were my first!

Load up on breakfast, your gunna need it.
Bring some water and energy food.
Get plenty of rest the day before.
Bring a video camera, tripod and a long life battery and about 3 tapes. There will be so much information, you will want to capture as much as you can. I hope you are getting more than an hour or two.
Don't worry about study unless you have specific questions. The light bulbs will be popping all day. Including the lights at the far end of the range.

Have fun!

Thanks Bagger...

...will do Bagger, thanks. Yeah, I've been lurking around the book and Yodas postings a few yrs now, time to get down to business I reckon. I'll post a long report upon my return.

Did someone say breakfast at the Cracker Barrel?

I'm in!

HoganFan 06-27-2006 08:02 AM

Fillin' The Barrel...

...Ted and I meet at 12:00pm, Saturday August 19th. I'm staying at Crestwood Suites which I think is just about 2 miles from the golf center. I hear CB's not far in either direction--I'll be fasting until then so I can sample everything the barrel can thrown at me.....:salut:

Still On Target....

...just PM'd Ted to confirm we're on for this Sat, 12-4pm. Ted, Lynn--are we eatin' at CB?

YodasLuke 08-16-2006 10:22 PM

I'd love to have breakfast with you, but I'll be booked all day with lessons. I don't know if you want to get up that early, since we don't start until 12:00. That is, unless you need to take a nap from the sugar crash after the pancakes.

HoganFan 08-16-2006 11:54 PM

Good Point...

...I'll make sure to time my sugar crash so I'm recovered by noon....

I'm just in last night from Deutschland, HoganFan, and have not had Internet access for the past two weeks. I have seriously missed all you guys on LBG and am delighted to be back.

Now, I know you're in town to see Ted -- you're gonna love it! -- but LBG is not all I've missed. I am experiencing EXW (Extreme Culinary Withdrawal) induced by the complete absence of Cracker Barrels in Germany. There is only one known remedy and that is a serving of one (or more) of the following:

1. Old Timer's Breakfast (unfortunate title, there!);

2. Sunrise Sampler;

3. Country Boy's Breakfast;

4. Uncle Herschel's Favorite.

=P~

All the above would require at least a short-stack of pancakes on the side (unless, of course, you decide to go with an order of Momma's Own from the get-go). For those stout-hearted folk able to resist a Four-Accumulator Temptation, click here for a peek at the Mother of All Breakfast Menus http://crackerbarrel.com/menu-tradit...cfm?doc_id=889. We're working on a Yoda's Own addition that could become a popular favorite!

Bottom line: I'll meet you at The Cracker Barrel at 8:30 a.m. tomorrow morning. We'll go mano a mano with Uncle Herschel, and since I'm also experiencing GIWA (Golf Instructor's Withdrawal Anxiety) -- no teaching in a week! -- you'll probably also get a Yoda Ground School. Providing, of course, we can get it in between bites. :)

One thing's for sure though: There will be no sausage or cheese or hard rolls tomorrow morning...I've had quite enough lately, thank you! It was great to be abroad, but it's greater still to be back home.

See you in the a.m., HoganFan. Bring your bib!

All the best,

Dana

Just To Double Check...

...the CB on Delk Rd, correct? I'm staying at the Crestwood Suites on N Roswell, and they said that CB's nearby...I'm good to travel anywhere if there's another one you prefer. I'll have my cell on me: 646. 533. 1227.

The Cracker Barrel is just off I-75 at Exit 261 (Delk Road). Approaching from I-75 North, take a left off the exit. Exiting I-75 South, hang a right. You can't miss it. The Marietta Golf Center is just ten minutes away at Exit 265.

Got it...

...c u there.

I'll be there, but I'll have to eat fast. I can't get behind, or I'll be backed up all day. I may call to give my order, so I'll have more than 15 minutes to eat.
C U there.
