Outstanding job, Mathew! Really terrific stuff. :salut:

I will never forget the awe I felt when you posted your first version -- could it be almost two years now? I looked at it and in my heart knew, "There is a new dawn for The Golfing Machine."

And thanks also to bambam for another great job in helping make this happen. Another great example of our dedicated crew assisting and empowering our members to make this one of the premier websites in Golf.

:)

Mathew 10-25-2006 12:22 AM

Thanks Yoda and Bambam :)

Really impressive work. Thankyou.

If a picture paints a thousand words.

How much does this!.

hg 10-25-2006 10:19 AM

Thanks Matthew....it's amazing what one can learn from a door hinge:)

A Well-Oiled Machine

Fantastic! You guys are good...

Thom 10-25-2006 11:43 AM

Great work Mathew. The first version was really helping me understanding hinging, and has been in my mind many times at the range. This version is even better:dance:

YodasLuke 10-25-2006 06:05 PM

Great job

Great job, man!

With illustrations like these, Stevie Wonder could see how the hinge actions operate.

Mathew 10-26-2006 12:29 AM

Thanks guys :)

Tommorow im going to try to put up another.... towards a 1-L collection....

"Never was so much owed by so many to so few."

Thanks Matthew and all of the other "Few" to whom we, "the Many", owe so much.

Go Team; this stuff could really catch on!

New animation here

1-L-18. Changing the plane angle has no effect on the plane line

Just fantastic Mathew!!!
This is breathing life into TGM.
Incidentally, what would be the effect on the plane line if the plane angle was to pivot on the low point plane line?

Ma-thew! I cannot be-lieve you!

Wow!

The Shifting Plane Angle.

The constant Base Line.

The Shifting Plane Angle extended through the constant Horizontal Base Line to the likewise Shifting Low Point Plane Line.

And a Lever Assembly that Traces both Down Plane.

Congratulations my friend!

:notworthy

[Do we have a 'kissee' Smiley Face somewhere?]

:)

P.S. I love that 'comet' Golf Ball streaking out into the black void!

Thanks strav

I deliberately drew the low point plane line to show it moving with the plane. Unless the low point plane line is precisely on your release plane (which isn't the way real golfers should think), the sweetspot orbit won't go correctly through the ball at impact (best I can do without going into mega detail)....

Toolish 11-29-2006 06:18 PM

That is impressive.

How did you get the reference points for the clubhead movement. Are they based on a player, or just made to look right?

Great work, Mathew. Another wonderful contribution to golfdom and LBG. Thanks! :salut:

P.S. Did you learn anything about the Stroke's Geometry while doing the animation?

Thanks Lynn :) - Im glad you like it :)

Well, a little but not too much because this animation has a close relationship to the 1-L-18 animation I made earlier. I did find out some things however, I found out that the lever assembly and the point where you release will affect the clubhead orbit at impact point as it comes to an inline condition...

Mathew 11-30-2006 03:03 AM

1-l-5/6

Whilst the point has been kinda already been made in the 1-L-18 animation, 1-L-5/6 is coming very soon :). Maybe not the most inspiring points since almost everyone here knows what they mean but none the same, it needs to be done for the collection and as an introduction for those rolling in the deep fog (how poetic huh..:) ) to these concepts...

Mathew 12-02-2006 05:57 PM

Ok everyone :)

1-L-5 The clubshaft lies full length on a flat, tilted plane.
