Brian Gay In the PGA Championship

Brian Gay has qualified for this year's PGA Championship at Oakland Hills CC. The course is a 7,395 yard, Par 70 test that Ben Hogan immortalized at the 1951 U.S. Open with his quote: "I brought 'the monster' to its knees."

I've heard about The Monster all my golfing life, and I'm proud to say I'll be there with Brian Tuesday through Friday.

Wish us luck!

Awesome News

Yoda

That is such great news...I am happy for Brian and thrilled for you. I saw the preview show on CBS today ....they have made changes to the course that returns it to its "Monster" status. Brian is so deserving of the honor and to share that with him must give you goosebumps. Please pass my best wishes to Brian...will be rooting big time for him.

P.S. I hope you can take your camera with you and share the moment with us:)

I expect Brian to be at Oakland Hills on the weekend. As for me, I have an all day Academy at Cuscowilla on Saturday, so I'm driving straight there from the airport Friday night. Should get in about midnight!

That's right where you belong, Lynn --- inside the ropes at a Major with your player(s).

You've done such great work with so many guys --- really helping to turn careers & lives around. And carrying the torch for Mr. Kelley.

I'm quite proud of you and proud to have spent some quality time getting to know you. I'm always keeping tabs on your players on tour, too. Congrats to Brian!!!

Ditto. May I add that through this web site so many more have learned and improved. Continued success to you and all your students.

A special thanks to those folks behind the scenes that make this site so great.

I chatted with Lynn at the range on Tuesday and walked with him following Brian for several holes this afternoon during the PGA. Brain obviously played great and it was fun to spend some time talking golf with Lynn.

Go team!

TEXTING FROM MY BLACKBERRY:

It was great, wasn't it, Jeff . . . Watching Brian split the fairway at the first and making birdie from the fringe at the second. Then, carrying the ridge at the 5th and picking up the reward 40 yards of roll. I am so proud of my player and so pleased you were there to share it with me.

Thats brilliant! Brian T8 after round 1.

Go Brian, couple of big results this week and next and maybe the zinger will hand you a wild card for the Ryder Cup!

I have to say that it was great to see BG in action up at the top of the tree.

Anyone else notice that BG and Poulter had matching outfits on!

:laughing1

GPStyles 08-09-2008 03:13 AM

Very respectable 74 from BG in round 2.

Yoda, was he swinging (or hitting) well enough to go to the next level this week?
