Tiger Sequence

Here's a sequence of a fairly good golfer...love watching the footwork...the hips sliding forward into a sitdown position...and the overall rhythm of his swing. Yoda...is that our friend John practicing behind Tiger.:)

No, it's Tommy Armour III, who coincidentally just happens to be tied for the 36-hole lead in Memphis. http://www.pgatour.com/2008/tourname...rd2/index.html

Thanks for posting the sequence, hg. It's always fun to check out El Tigre's action!

hg,

Cool sequence, thanks for posting!

What are the most important elements to "sit down" position? It's common in all sports, not just golf, to use the ground to create some leverage but this one has me baffled!

My snare is that my right leg "chases" down the fairway when attempting to create this leverage. How do I get left and and exert force through the right leg? Is it more a push off?

If you look at frame 4 you can see Tiger's right arm has not started to fold yet and the club is horizontal.

"The knees passing through the sit down position maintains the left side assignment of turning the body to generate centrifugal force. Power package muscle power (right triceps thrust) can make a miniscule contribution and only with great effort during a swing procedure."

Inspirational Performance at US OPEN

Tiger....Good luck on Sunday...hope the left knee holds up....Today was an awesome performance...if only the LAKERS collectively had your focus and will to win mentality in the face of adversity...I am sure right now you have the left knee on ice and you are visualizing shots swinging on only your right leg. :)
