I can't say why they have never referenced Mr. Kelley. But I will say this is not abonormal behavior for many people in many walks of life. Not everyone gives proper credit or reference to the people with original ideas.

I have both Hall, Cook's and Johnsons books and he is definitely mentioned in the first two as well as the third i think. Mike Hebron speaks lots of him in his book and even has an excellent chapter about the book. Ron Gring mentions Homer a lot in his works that i have seen.

Tgm
The only times I remember TGM being mentioned on TGC was by Bobby Clampett, in which he had to end up being kind of defensive, because of the questions Peter Kessler was asking him.

I believe Bill Skelley may have also mentioned TGM on an Academy Live.

I believe they think the mention of TGM will be mis-interpretated by the public.

They need to get Ted Fort, Steve Ferguson, or some P.G.A. Member like that. Yoda would be great, but I think they usually only put P.G.A. Members on there... probably because of some contract, but not sure on that.

They had Jason Gore on with his 'instructor' who may not have been a PGA member.

I do recall Martin Hall mentioning TGM on TGC, I think it was the episode about his book "Golf Myths Exposed", but I could be mistaken.

It would be wonderful to see Lynn or Ted on TGC. Perhaps they can schedule that during "Homer Kelley Memorial" week - the new name for the Players Championship, or is it Pebble... yeah, I'd say Pebble would be best.

I say give the kid a break, and give him some time. He's only 21! What were you doing at 21?
Wolf,

Not trying to get on him - I thought it was one of the better Academy Live shows I've seen. And he seemed FAR from nervous. I was pretty impressed by his composure as well and was surpised when they said he was 21 and still in college.

I just think there is a general frustration on the part of those who study and believe TGM that it rarely gets any props on the largest of stages (i.e television). Regardless, it was nice to see a teacher mention some of the "imperatives" instead of the usual cookie-cutter "here's how you fix your slice" that you get on that show.

When I was 19 there were no PGM classes, internet and Homer hadn't given his first Master Class. And...I had walk to my A.I. classes, in the middle of winter, barefoot, uphill both ways and we liked it.
