Everyone needs to remember that the altitude is around 2500' so those distances are a little inflated.
It was a long time ago in another life when I was towing Jet Sleds out that way. We ran them on the river between Lake Havasu and Laughlin. 60MPH over the sand bars with 30 people on board. It was an E-Ticket ride and I have some great memories. I was also at Edwards once in the mid-80's hawking some computer networking gear. It's probably still installed there.
Anyway, never discuss the altitude, or wind, fairway bounce, or downhill roll when talking driver distance. Those things simply don't factor into the calculations!
If I ever find (or lose) my way out there again, I will certainly look you up. Ya just never know. Likewise if you find your way to Austin, give me a shout.
