Grinding Away
Agggh.
John drove it right and into the primary rough. He punched out and is now 99 yards from the hole in two. This would be a great up-and-down.

Nut-Cuttin' Time
Wedge to 10 feet, 9 inches. More for steady nerves, a good read, and a nice Hinge Action.

A Stroke Dropped
Rats. Two putts for a bogey and back to T-11. But, the field has averaged 4.11 on this toughie, and everybody else has to play it, too.

Back In the Saddle
Birdie 2 on the short, but tough (7th hardest) 16th! Five-under for the day, -13 for the tournament and T-7!

Drums Across the Mohawk
On the 557-yard, Par 5 17th, John's just ripped it 320 yards up the left side. He's got a perfect angle in from 218 yards. For him, probably a 5-iron (no more than a 4-iron) to be on in two.

Eagle 3 it is!
John is now -7 for the day, -15 for the tournament and in a 4-way tie for second. Break that logjam, John!

John hit that shot 218 yards to three feet. We talked this afternoon, and I asked him what he hit.
"6-Iron."
"6-Iron?! How in the world do you hit a 6-Iron 218 yards?"
"Well, I was a little downwind."
Of course.

That's hilarious Yoda. Way to go John, it was a pleasure reading Yoda's hole-by-hole commentary of a fantastic round. I hope this is just the jump-off you need to get this year rolling. We are all stoked, keep up the great work!
