brownman,

There are other way to do it.. for sure ..

A cut is the face is Open to the path thus creating a slice spin, thus the ball checks slightly to the right when hit to the ground.

Or we could play a more On plane shot ... the ball would basically tracks straight foward .

Or the face is closed to the path.. hook spin...

hand ahead of club at impact, or inline with club or club ahead of hand on impact.. could yield different trajectory again.. the Impact fix are only guidelines. FLW is not an essential in shortgame, the rule can be broken to create different trajectory.. ie it could be flipping for a higher trajectory thus lob is just another way..

and we could use different amount of acc 3 to vary rhythm, angle of attack, again have an effect on trajectory and spin.

and width of backswing and throughswing to control the inline conditions and release...

So.. there are really choices and variables we need to understand..The ball does react to Path, acceleration, clubface loft and angle...

But , in shortgame, the most important thing is the control of low points, ie stationary head, and weight kept at left feet. no secondary axis tilt etc...I think this is the essentials to short game.. The others are variable that we can learn to play with and understand how the ball reacts..

I suggest go study the books by Stan Utley, Runyan , Pelz various books to understand to find out the choices. I personally rate Stan the easiest to understand and effective.
