Brian was only two strokes back going into 17, but a tee ball into the hazard and the resulting double bogey dashed his hopes for the lead. He finished with 69 (-7 for the tournament) and T5, five strokes behind leader Phil Mickelson.
Making up five strokes in one round on the #2 player in the world is asking a lot, but there are only four men between Brian and the lead. This is a golf course where anything can happen . . .

And Brian can go low.
It was great to see Brian so close to the top...it was heartbreaking to see the double on 17....but BG is a professional and that hole is history...maybe something learned ....Yoda any idea what Brian hit off the tee on 17... it looked way off to the right and a very hard second shot to the green from where he was. I believe I heard 17 was playing the 2nd hardest on the course. He had a good save on 18 so tommorrow could be very interesting.
