Taking out the slack move can be done by pushing up plane with the right hand during the down swing transition while the pivot pulls the left arm. It is a simple move and does not require a hip slide. Works every time.

Using the right hand on the back and down swing is kinda a no brainer! The pronlem is that even though the right hand is being used to take the club to the top of the BS the club head is still getting behind me at waist high because of the over rotation of the hips. This is why I started playing with a lateral shift, and it is not like you might think. I move lateral into my right leg but "DO NOT" shift over my right leg with full weight, as taught in the old days. Mine is more to keep the hips from turning so quick as I get the club to waist high and start to cock the hips then start turning. This motion gets the club from getting behind me to early and is more like a lateral post into my inner right leg just enough time saved that the club can get in a good position before hip rotation.

On the DS there is a slight lateral shift because of the width of the stance with the longer clubs, but in the shorter inrons no. I suspect this is why I am dead on with 7 iron thru LW, more narow stance and not much weight shifting, and shorter swing. I tried to narrow my stance some with the longer clubs but I think that turns into a whole other issue for balance and leverage.

Oh well, not a huge deal like I said just experimenting and trying to learn to add to my teaching base. I have such a great short game and hand eye cordination that I can still get it around with any swing mid 70's, just search for the best way to make this TGM motion. I think I will go back to my old swing now, which is pretty close to what lead me to TGM.

That sounds like pivot controlled hands, though, don't you think, pulling you off plane?

The good news is your problem should show up in Stage 1-chipping and Stage 2-pitching, so why not revisit those (I start every practice session with Stage 1 & 2) and verify your alignments, allowing the right hip to clear as a result - much like it would if you were skipping a stone.

You know I did go back to that, and there is no problem on video, until I get into the longer club 8 iron thru Driver... I don't think it is mental, it is just the fact the arc is wider because of the longer clubs and it gives my hips more time to turn on the back swing and gets me off plane. The shorter irons this does not happen, I guess the narrow stance and shorter swing the hips are not as active early.

I did notice in one of your videos that there isn't much separation between your right elbow and your chest, which could indicate a lack of proper extensor action (and result in what you describe) but to be honest, I have no business offering my opinion, I'm not really qualified, just eager to help.

I don't mind, Hell I am not qualified either to teach TGM and I teach PGA Tour players..LoL I just figured this is the closes thing out there to my own swing and LB was nice to me, so I thought I would dig deeper and try somethings out he had to say. I have talked to LB, Jeff Evans, BJ, and Kevin Carter they all were more than happy to give me there ear and advice. Hey, like I said I can get it around with any swing, so it is not any big deal for me to experiment. I am a 34yr old teacher who has the occational thought of playing, then I go Monday qualify some were shot my 73 to 79 and forget about it till next year..Lol I am just like you trying to learn, I just like to tinker though snf getting better is a bi-product.

Anytime you want to chime in on one of my post, you are more than welcome.
