Line of site to the ball

I don't remember hearing/seeing this before. If it has please point me to the appropriate thread!

In the Collin Neeman video series, chapter 4, Yoda is putting Collin's hands in position for "line of site to the ball." Are his hands supposed to be covering the ball, as seen from his eyes, just before impact?
