I have read it a few times as well. Also, read the sequel "The Kingdom of Shivas Irons" also by Micheal Murphy. The latter does a section on TGM (quite interesting, starts on pages 193-213, chapter 13, Horace Ziparelli is the character executing the Star System Triad). Murphy was obviously knowleable in regard to Mr. Kelley's work (strange for someone of his background). Both are also available as books on tape.

That was going to be my follow up question. Who had read the sequel? I just finished it this afternoon. I had no idea about the references to Homer/TGM until I got to them. I wasn't going to mention this (didn't want to spoil the surprise), but just recommend that The Kingdom of Shivas Irons is also a wonderful read.
