I'm experiencing a little confusion about the setup for hitting. They way I understand it the clubface is supposed to be slightly closed relative to your grip, but at impact fix it is supposed to be slightly open relative to the target line. I would love it if someone would let me know if this is right or if I've misunderstood what people have said.
See 2-J-1 first paragraph. Club face should be aligned at impact fix accordingly. When Kelley is writing about grip rotation, he means the actual grip of the club. That is, rotate the grip of the club to close the clubface to compensate for the "slice producing uncentered motion" of Angled Hinging.
("slice producing" written in relative terms). No closing for short shots as the the ball does not stay on the clubface long enough for an effect.
So, for example, if you produce a great deal of compression , you start off at impact fix, and you are hitting a driver, you would want to see a closed clubface relative to the target line. PP #3 in postion to trace plane line.
