Stop doing that! Turned left hand can work, but a turned right hand is a no-no. Ball position may be a factor becasue the further back of low point you place it the more "turned" your hands look as the back of you left hand faces down the angle of approach. I have found (not quite sure why) that a turned right hand may be a visual perception issue because of an uncentered head i.e. head is over your right knee...from there nothing looks and feels right.
