Need a little guidance
I pretty much gave up trying to execute any TGM on the golf course with the full swing when I played this winter as I am hiting the ball good with my regular swing, but I have continued to work on reaching my goal of 6,000 chips and pitches done TGM style.
The first 1,000 I pretty much spun my tires as I practiced haphazzardly ...if anything taking several steps backwards as old habits kept cropping up as I tried to learn to keep pressure on PP1 during the swing....keeping the hands ahead and finishing with the club below the hands. I hit most of them thin or fat...too much dipping and moving....but I was mostly hitting off of dirt as I figured if I could hit off of dirt grass would be a piece of cake. I started getting serious about 1200...even washed my 200 practice balls for the first time...lol.... and it all started to click on the practice swing...think Ben Doyle pounding the dirt about 5 times before every pitch... but I still often reverted back to bad habits when I went to hit the ball. At 1500 I knew I had it...it felt right and the results were pretty dramatic. I hit 300 more this morning to put me at 1800. I can't imagine how friggen good I will be by 6,000...I am thinking professional style.LOL So far I haven't worried too much about distance accuracy or hinging..just trying to focus on catching the ball pure each time. When do you figure I ought to start working on the different hinging or should I start getting target conscious first> I wonder if this will eventually carry over to the full swing..ya think?
