My "personal" version of the cut chip that i teach to almost everybody initially and then let them change it on their own is to hit the BACK of the ball (3 o'clock) with a square face and an angled hinge while drawing a straight plane line and "hitting it" with a push elbow using pp #1.

This makes the ball initally travel slightly left of target due to the square contact but then because of the angled hinge it will bounce to the right.

So it's like a mini pull fade
