And Yes, if you just were to focus on pp#3 and ignore, delete, omit the rest of the motion- that can be a problem. On aiming point, I realize that its variable due to club length and hand speed etc, but I was looking for forum examples of what people are using to aim with and at i.e. aim PP3 to 2 inches behind with the driver,, again understanding that its variable. Two "forum" thoughts: 1)My example- Directing that weight="lag"- at the ball (yes, with every club)- why? cause I'm not good enough to detect the difference! and maybe some other psychological reason- that's the practical application for me- however, as you mention I'm actually using different aiming points- I just don't consciously isolate them.2) For me- while I am "trying to hit the ball"- at any particular point in the downswing my sensation of the lag is that it is directed at a continuum of different points on the plane line starting from 4 feet behind the ball to 3 feet in front of the ball- A "rotating aiming point" concept. For example, say my aiming point is the ball- and if I'm at impact- I don't have the sensation that my lag pressure is directed at the ball- it's directed essentially down the plane line a couple of feet (7-2-3 "down the right forearm angle of approach)-In that regard- also keep in mind that whether subconsiously or consciously used- trying to get back to your impact hand location is a very good alternative to the aiming point procedure- in fact my guess would be that it's much more common than the aiming point procedure- we've all got lag- hopefully, and we all direct it somewhere at the plane line- hopefully, so those two facts don't necessarily mean that you're using an aiming point procedure- and in fact, you can mess your game up if you're using an impact hand location subconsciously but try to consciously use an aiming point procedure Last question (for this post ) Visually speaking (line of sight to the aiming point), is the sweet spot the only thing that passes through the aiming point? Remember the aiming point is not the ball except for one club- so it's like a sand shot where you're aiming at a different point than the ball- therefore- normally the sweetspot on the clubface would not pass through the aiming point. CW CW- some rambling thoughts above- but certainly some important areas for future elaboration if you're really going to use some of these concepts for improvement of your golf game.
