Millrat...reply
Millrat,
No, millrat, you do not accomplish what i suggested.
You are hitting the ball (wether the direct back of it or the inside quadrant) with the left SIDE of hosel.
if you read the drill again, youll see it says to "try" and hit the inside quadrant of the ball with the UNDERSIDE of the hosel and NOT the SIDE of it.
Think for a minute as you picture yourself at the topof your swing ready to come down, whith this mental image of seeing in your mind, the underside of the hosel initially leading down & out towards the inside quadrant, what do you think your swing-body-language would be, with that mental "goal" in mind??
Over the top perhaps?.......nope
Out & Roundhouse........nope
Down & Out on the plane with no initial throw-away....yep
When i used the word "try" as in...."try" to hit the inside quadrant with the underside of the hosel, it is more of an initial downswing mental-goal to have in mind as you start down, OBVIOUSLY i dont want to ACTUALLY hit with the back of the hosel, just gently 'try' to, in the first part of the downswing.
Hope this Helps.
