This guy played in the NFL for the Eagles. He started with standard length clubs (no chance, as he's well over six feet tall). I fit him very early in the lessons. In our first lesson, I worked hard to get him to get a single ball off the ground (even in Basic Motion).

He couldn't play golf or even think about keeping score, because he couldn't do anything but top the ball. When I say every ball, I mean EVERY ball. He has a number of friends that live in the Northeast, all of whom play golf, and he wanted to be able to spend time with them. Now, he's the talk of the town. He's gone from not being able to finish a hole to shooting in the 80's. He's absolutely thrilled, and his friends are astonished.

He was terribly off-plane and had no extensor action. Since he was so far off-plane if he got it in the air, he had to steer, bend the wrist, etc. Needless to say, it was a mess.

We started with Basic Motion and a little geometry lesson. Once he got the Hinge Actions and taking all strokes to both arms straight, we started making the strokes a little bigger. His biggest breakthrough was the tracing of the Delivery Line. Once he understood the Hinge Actions, he knew that his previous Delivery Line was terrible. He understood cause and effect for the first time.

Yoda says that, "teaching a Tour Player is like teaching a fish how to swim." Taking a guy this far is the (Caddyshack) Cinderella story.
