Shortgamer . . . I was doing a little reading at work in my "library." I have the 4th Edition at work . . . under 6-E-2 there is some great stuff that didn't make it forward to the 7th. I think this will help you in your efforts to install an Aiming Point procedure if you like . . . here goes . . .

This Aiming Point procedure seems more easily acquired if introduced as a Feel. At the top of the Backstroke - even at the End (10-21-C) - mentally construct a line from the Hands to the Aiming Point. Let a careful Downstroke Pivot move the Hands precisely along this line - they will Feel as though they remain at the top of the stroke. Don't question that Feel - just sustain (monitor) it per 5-0, all ready for Release at the preselected Release Point (10-19, 10-24). Drive the Hands (Clubhead Feel 7-19) down the line (2-N) until both arms are straight - i.e., NO QUITTING. That procedure merely utilizes a long used method for drawing freehand straight lines between two points. Using the Clubshaft as the pencil is an effective equivalent.

So basically you are taking the Load establishhed in your Hands by the Pivot manifested in the Pressure Points STRAIGHT DOWN THE LINE TO BOTH ARMS STRAIGHT.

I think the deal in red about the freehand drawing of straight lines is what he was driving at. Homer said that you can draw a straight line on a chalk board if you place the chalk on the starting point and then LOOK AT THE POINT WHERE YOU WANT THE LINE TO END. However if you look at the chalk or look at a point in between you ain't gonna draw no straight line.

This is basically the Aiming Point procedure . . . Load up your Pressure Points . . . TOTALLY DISMISS THE CLUBHEAD . . . YOU DON'T HAVE A CLUBHEAD . . . DRIVE OR DRAG YOUR LOADED UP HANDS DOWN THE LINE TO THAT POINT YOU ARE LOOKING AT ON THE GROUND . . .YOUR HANDS NOT THE CLUB . . . that point could be the ball or a point infront or behind it ON THE SELECTED DELIVERY LINE.
