Just got back from the grounds at Kingsmill and it should be quite a tourney for the ladies this week. The course is in solid shape, greens are true and the wind was up.
Makes that 18th one heck of a finish, dead into the wind on an already tough hole.
Swings to watch for:
Katherine Hull
A motion Hogan would be proud of.
I enjoyed watching Morgan Pressel. A very nice swing, she just needs to keep an eye on her tempo. Consistent and gets a lot out of it for her size, as does Jenna Daniels
Nicole Perrot has a nice move.
Kerr gets decent compression but can't hit it very far (at only 5'3)
Leta Lindly would have one of the best swings out there if she just knew about extensor action! She packs a good wollop for her size.
Not as much compression out on the range as I would have expected though. A lot of players that 'pick' the ball.
It was a real treat to see Annika. Very small crowds at the range after her round.
As for Daniel Aimee (sp?) - the Big Break - is BIG throw away. It's too bad because she's got a decent move otherwise. Dean Reinmuth was out trying to help her (she was hitting all partial swings fat) and I didn't see any improvement. I managed to get in a 'flat left wrist' comment as they walked by, but man she's got a BIG cup at the top and I'd guess she won't break 80 or make the cut with how she was swinging and putting.
Some interesting moves out on the LPGA, but some outstanding RHYTHM to be sure!
