You don't have to know the difference and be able to articulate what a snap release versus a sweep release is. Like Hogan said . . . he didn't need to do everything good . . . just a few things good. But the trick is figuring out what those "few good things are" FOR YOU. Could be you have found it. I agree that the pivot is vital . . . so that could be your "few good things".
