He then had me do the following: 1. Insert a tee in the ground at an angle about 20 degrees to the ground, i.e. shallow angle. Insert it until 3/4-1 inch is still visible. The ballcup should be just above ground level. (see pic) 2. Make a chip shot hitting the tee with the leading edge of the clubhead. The tee should be jammed further into the ground (in its direction), more or less like hitting a nail with a hammer. Passing the test requires a pretty precise (slightly downward) little shot. As Ben showed it to me he actually missed it once and was clearly quite shocked about that, saying: "Ooh. I never miss that". Obviously this more or less requires a chipshot keeping the bottom of the clubhead parallell to the ground. In Destin I was taught a chip shot (that I liked a lot and since then practice) that builds on zeroing out all but the #1 accumulator. That way the leading edge will not be parallell to the ground and this test might not be appropriate. If so I guess this "ultimate test" can be practiced on a chip-pitch or even a small pitch. Should be pretty hard for anyone. metallion View Public Profile Send a private message to metallion Visit metallion's homepage! Find all posts by metallion
