Ahh yes. Good ole double laced boots that need to be relaced every run... cubco bindings, wood skis with P-tek bottom and segmented edges. Torque your knee down on the fall line to hold an edge. Dem was da daze.

Cubco! I couldn't recall the binding maker - thanks. I am amazed that there is someone else here from the prehistoric leather/steel/wood/wool ski era.

I have been skiing with leather shoes until recently! As long as the skis are good and the shoes have some side support you can get down pretty demanding slopes.

After a few years with alpine gear this brought back the fun of skiing. With interest. Much more ski feeling!

But next week I will go with super forgiving irons with plenty of offset (high plastic shoes and brand new carving skis) - in Steamboat Springs. I had to try them carving skis sooner or later. And getting old and lazy too....
