I've downloaded and used the free version of their software and have never had trouble opening avi or wmv files. Even the free version of V1 (downloadable from their site) lets you step through a video so you can see impact (assuming impact was captured by the individual who shot the video).

We can only play AVI files in slow motion. We can import some WMV files but not all.

Our software creates only real AVI files. A real AVI file is a series of still pictures and looks and plays just like a movie at a theatre. Each frame is a whole picture, not just what has changed.

Compressed files such as WMV are made differently. One initial picture is taken and then for a number of frames only what has changed is what is recorded. Then, another reference picture is taken, then more of only what has changed. Compressed files are much smaller in size but also have much less video content.
