Keep on working at it. It takes time to unlearn the bad habit of flipping and steering. Those small shots are the gateway.

Once you are ready, move to stage 2 which is "acquired motion". These are larger strokes but not full strokes. Your right forearm doesn't go beyond parallel to the ground on the backstroke and your left arm does not go beyond parallel on the follow through.
As Burner mentioned, you can see this in the Collin videos.

Train your hands to lead the clubhead all the way into the followthrough. At the completion of your stroke, the hands are still leading the clubhead and you are about to begin the finish swivel. But you will save that for the full stroke.

This is a great program that Homer Kelley left us and one of the best ways to get over our bad habits.
