Humans are not built to bring vertical hinging to a full swing finish and as a result, it is relegated to partial swings. Tiger is the only guy I've seen that can take a vertical hinge action and go hard at it through impact. Even so, the finish is very abrupt. I watched him practice bunker shots using a vertical hinging at the Augusta National short game practice area. He took a full backstroke with a quick left wristcock at startup. Then he would attack the sand with a hard downstroke with an abrupt acquired motion finish. The ball would come out of the sand high, soft and with a ton of spin. On the Augusta practice green the ball would stop on a slight downhill with a single bounce, and slowly inch its way another two feet to the stick. Overall carry was about 10 feet. Overall shot was about 15-17 feet. __________________ Bagger 1-H "Because of questions of all kinds, reams of additional detail must be made available - but separately, and probably endlessly."
