Post Cuscowilla Progress
Cuscowilla was great in teaching alignments. Now it is up to me to develop the proper feels as I practice properly. Ben Doyle talked about golf thoughts, tennis thoughts, car driving thoughts, swimming thoughts etc. As I practice I am aware of certain feels that seem appropriate to the motion. My computer is being programmed. I would like to get rid of all the wrong, improperly learned thoughts of the last 40 years and reinforce all of the good golf thoughts and feels that have been flooding my brain. In the past I found Mike Hebron's book "Golf Mind, Golf Body, Golf Swing" helpful. Although many think one's feels and thoughts are unique to each individual, I believe that many are universal and can apply to anyone. Mike's Golf Swing Notes have often given me a lift in past years. I would like to see a thread devoted to this topic. It would be helpful for a student like me to be encouraged and guided by the TGM instructors on this forum suggesting some of their swing keys, golf notes and feelings they have about the swing. Lynn's expression "taking out the base line", "aiming Thrust", "pp 3 is last outpost of the grip", "hands are clamps", "tight grip, flexible wrists", "establish head position at impact fix", not weight shift but pressure shift, "painting plane line with right hand",that pop out of my notes. I remember vividly Ben Doyles "new stance, new grip, new ball" and "shoot, hold and rest". These are the golf thoughts I would like to have pop into my head when I am on the range or even playing.
