He indicated to me I was double cocking my right wrist. I was cocking it back and up, instead of just back. From what I can recall he indicated it was causing me to hit a pull. Can anyone explain why this would be?

I'll take a guess at the Double Cock, pull relationship.

If you take your bent and cocked left wrist from Top down to Impact and maintain the same degree of bend (you can undo the wrist cock of course) the clubface will be pointed to the left. Given that the ball starts off approximately square to the face angle at separation a pull shot will result.

Just a guess though there could well have been other factors.
