It's not adding velocity to the sweetspot but rather the golf ball ( not sure velocity is the right word) I think there is nothing wrong with the little bat attached to the shaft. The horizontal hinge is JUST like a baseball bat because baseball is on a horizontal plane! Or at least ver close to it.
