Golf Glove on Right for Righty!!!
Should a player change, or not change the glove hand with a right forearm takaway? If the right hand is taking the hands to the BS, and also taking the hands to the Aiming Point, would this be benificial in more control with the right hand?

I know the left hand is for stability, and I have never seen a right handed players left hand come off the club after impact like with the right hand. Just give me some idea's as to why, and why not, all I am looking for is your opinions.

Thats a very interesting question.

Although they are 'working opposite sides of the shaft', so to speak, as a left hand glove aids PP#2, a right handed glove could aid PP's 1 and 3.

Certainly having 'glove against glove' would make PP1 less prone to slipping - so, yeah, I think it would be advantageous to wear a glove on the right hand too.

When I think about actually wearing a glove on my right hand I feel like I would be embarrassed, which is dumb, because if it aids in taking any wobble out of PP1 it's well worth doing.

I vote Nay
I think a glove is beneficial if it is contact with the grip. The cup of the right hand is over the left thumb i.e not in contact with the grip itself. Therefore I do not think there is a benefit to wearing a glove on the right hand...unless...you really want to!

1, 2 or None
Ben Hogan vs Tommy 2 Gloves. You choose! I just think it really is only because players grow up watching right handed players wearing a glove on the left hand that is why they do also. Does anyone know the history of when and why players started to wear only one glove. I'm sure that the playing conditions of the land that the game originated has something to do with it. Although I can't remember any pictures of Old Tom or Young Tom wearing any such thangs. Drewit any comments or ideas on the history? OJ would have worn 2 but couldn't find the right fit.

People do notice!!! I was at the range today and had about 4 people ask me I thought I bought the wrong glove hand when I saw you where wearing a glove on the right hand..LoL

Ben Hogan - Glove
Fred Couples - No glove
Tommy Gainey - Two gloves

Hard to say, BUT! Hogan said "I wishe I had 3 right hands" and every person I have ever talked with that new Hogan said his right hand was rough as sand paper, with a grip like a steel vice. I can not speak for Hogan but if he had normal soft hands and an average grip you might have seen him in a right handed glove, because he was right side dominant and would have found the beinfit if it was there. I am going to do some more trial and error with it, but so far I feel that there is more control now in the right hand and the grip never once changed position in my hands after impact???????

Thanks,
BurleyGolf-

Dont think Hogan wore a glove. Snead did but then he held the thing like it was a bird. I always wear gloves when Im holding birds.

I like Lukes advice to leave impressions on the grip. Im hitting it great these days and coming off the course with my hands black in all the right places. No glove.

You know I believe you are right Hogan did not wear a glove till he was way older and most times then you still did not see him with a glove. That is great alertness on your part, good call.. That makes me believe even more how important the right hand grip/pressure is and not the left NERD hand... I love it when I'm on to something.

Thanks

Uhhhhh . .. . . I don't think Hogan rocked no glove at least not on a golf course???? Vertical Left Hands and gloves are for chicks and proctologists or both. And if you play golf from the right side and put a glove on the right hand. . . . you should just go ahead and book a reservation at Neverland Ranch.
