I think it comes down to either swivel or no swivel on the back swing. The downswing then becomes swivel or no swivel how else can you square the clubface? No swivel to the top shut clubface and swivel/roll to impact = hook city (assuming horizontal hinge). You could overide the closed clubface hook pattern at impact using angled or vertial hinges.
