This sounds interesting. And there are perhaps more than one way to skin this cat. Plenty of flippers out on tour.
You can flip without ruining your lag pressure. It can be the same rate and timing of overtaking by the club, but with different hinge action. For instance take a very strong double action grip and the hinge action and accumulator#2 lag gets married. You can hit the ball a long way doing this but it becomes more difficult to feel the swing and control the lag.
But the TGM way seems like the best way to me. So this is not worth losing any sleep over.
Also be aware of semantic differences. Flipping doesn't always mean the same outside TGM as inside.

Funny . . . dude this type of "flipping" is in an entirely different context . . . as in "flipping" flop or out . . .
Quite frankly, I don't care what other instructors say or think about Homer Kelley or TGM. I've been at this for two years and it works for me. Yoda's explanations and clarifications work for me. Kev's, Daryl's, OB's, Mike's, and a whole bunch of others at this site work for me.
I will read and listen to others and keep gathering information. I am a bit of a whore that way, but my grounding is here and here is where I will continue to check in on a daily basis.
I have deleted the word flipping from my question. What I meant was some teachers who used to teach the Golfing Machine are putting it down now.
They fear what they don't understand. Then condemn it to make it go away. They embrace science because they don't know what to know and they're hopeful someone will tell them how to think. It's better than living in the dark of your own misunderstanding. When all of the science is solved, they'll still need different ways to swing a club.

I don't know much about science, but isn't science a good thing? It's not always right all the time, but science corrects itself when it's wrong - that's the good thing about science - it's always seeking perfection. So there shouldn't be a controversy between TGM and science. Science is in everybody's interest - I would think.

I could be wrong once again, but it is my understanding H.K. had the inner being of an engineer. To me, reading the book is all about science and engineering. His work was done over decades of observation, practice, practical application, etc. His work makes all of this discussion possible. Have it it, I say. Just don't get all hissy if I choose not to follow along. I have TGM and quite happy with it as I continue to learn each day.

I wasn't making any remarks against you - only saying something about science in general.
