Science corrects itself when wrong?

So there shouldn't be a controversy between TGM and science. Science is in everybody's interest - I would think.
Hey, Air, scientists are human beings who put their pants on one leg at a time. Always seeking perfection? Yes, for their own future budgets!!!

Now Air, this rant has nothing to do with you personally, unless you are a scientist in which case I'm sure you are a decent human being that would never mistake a human being for lab animal! I'm also guessing you wouldn't invent nerve gas, mustard gas, or bio-chemical weapons of mass destruction.

Did you follow the so called "global warming" crisis? No? Yes? Scientists lying their butts off.

Do you know that so called "carbon data recorders" are usually located on flat blacktop roofs near HVAC ducts?

Some of the worst decisions in history have been implemented by scientists. IBM used their new math and computer skills to track Jews for Hitler!

Google is monitoring dissidents in China for a little gold coin!

General Electric gave Obama millions so they could get special favors for their "going green" machines to be written into the tax code. Their scientists testify to Congress about the wonders of their machines. The truth is that machines from GE are less efficient than many smaller competitors who are be driven out of the market.

And now, global warming is beieng called "climate change." Why? Well it turns out there are millenia old observations suggesting that sunspots ebb and flow first, and the earth's climate responds.

Bush might've been an idiot but chairman Obama wants people to be reported to the White house if they "distort" his "Health Plan" which is robbing senior citizens of Medicaid by $500 billion! Who's health is being promoted? The health of his party at the expense of the general population. But there are doctors and nurses , with some scientific background, cheering our messiah on!

Scientists hooked some of my Jewish ancestors up to electrodes in the death camps, Air. Scientists?!!! Perfection?!!!

If Columbus hadn't brought gold and items of wealth from the end of the "edge of the world," we'd still be living under a royal monarchy somewhere.

Most scientists work for large corporations, or some branch of government. As a group, they tend to be rather statist in their mindsets.

Have you followed the development of new crop seed which does not germinate? Super crops today and no future crops tomorrow?
What kind of moron works on crap like that?

But please, science seeking perfection? C'mon!

YBGF ranting friend!

Patrick, I think we should be together for a week at Cuscowilla. We need more time to share our insights. I'll show you my tea party sign if you show me yours.

I really like tea, A LOT! And that Tea and lemonade cooler mix is awesome!

Now, I'm going to say something controversial...if I was on a desert island and a single Hilary Clinton and a single Sarah Palin were on offer as a choice for a mate, well, I don't mind saying I'd happily ask a single Mrs. P to take off her glasses on a regular basis!

And the Secretary of State can keep her day job!

WHOOOOHOOOOOOO!!!!!

This is too complicated for me to go deep into. But I think there is a difference between scientists as persons with their flaws and science in general. Scientists who are crooks or just dead wrong - will be corrected by their colleagues along the road when proven wrong. That's the way science works. I am not talking about "scientists" who for example do their dirty work for the tobacco industry, but how scientific knowledge is acquired and built up over time.

It's true Air, every profession has its losers!

But Air, I knew a man who wanted to be a fine minister and lost
everything several times trying to do the right thing. The feeling I have is that there are no worthy fields. But, happily, there is a redemptive power in the universe, a higher power that works through all types of people to do really great things.

There can be redemptive acts by that HP through car salesmen, plastic golf ball creators, golf pros, people in Minnesota, trashmen, soldiers, janitors, people in Norway, Georgia, everywhere, even Bollingbrook, IL, and people who write golf books!
