The answer depends on:
1. how you initiate the Startdown
2. Startdown resistance
Initiate Startdown
The purpose of the Startdown is to propel the Power Package On Plane to Release. The Right Shoulder moves On Plane toward the Ball. One way is to put weight on your left heel to initiate the downswing. Your left knee straightens; your Right Knee bends, Hips move laterally and Tilt, Torso Tilts, Right Shoulder is Thrown toward the Ball. No Muscle. The slower you lower the Left heel or move weight to it, the slower the Startdown. Too Simple.

Startdown Resistance
The Shoulders, Arms and Clubshaft and Clubhead have many alignment relationships and they have weight. If they are aligned correctly, then during Startdown you’ll feel their weight. They Resist a Change in direction.
It’s like having a ball on a long chain. If the chain is slacked then little resistance is felt when first pulling it until the chain is taut. If the Chain is taut, then the full weight of the ball is resisting your pull at the start.
Summary:
It takes lots of Practicing the right stuff.
