What do people feel about the drill where you put the butt of the club in the navel and keep it there during takeaway...was popular with Faldo and David Leadbetter?

Is this a means of encouraging standard hip action and hip turn?

This drill precedes Leadbetter and Faldo by more than a half century. See the MacDonald Exercises (Golf, 1927) in golfbulldog's post #4 here:

http://www.lynnblakegolf.com/forum/s...ead.php?t=4435.

I highly recommend these Exercises (indeed, I recommend the entire series). Follow the written instructions exactly. Also, imitate precisely the illustrated Body and Arms alignments, especially the On Plane Right Forearm. Execute the Pivot as directed in Exercise #4 (Post #1).

Remember, everybody, thanks to golfbulldog's efforts in the MacDonald thread, you can 'click on' each of the images in the Series, and they enlarge big-time!
